ORANG UTAN – LAKE TOBA

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL MEDAN - BUKIT LAWANG                                                       
We will pick up you from airport and then drive westward passing by vast view of palmoil and rubber plantation to Bukit Lawang, the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre located in Gunung Leuser Park. This is one of the largest national park in the world containing over 800,000 ha of virgin rainforest. Arrive in Bukit Lawang, direct transfer to a standard accomodation and free at leisure.
Accomodation at Bukit Lawang Cottage or Rindu Alam Hotel (no star).

DAY 2 : BUKIT LAWANG - BERASTAGI (B)
Walk along the river side and across the river by canoe to reach the sanctuary where the Orang Utans are trained to the wild. Continue to hike up to visit the feeding site where the Orang Utan fed during the feeding time. After the visit, walk back to your accommodation and have a short rest before drive to the scenic highland town of Berastagi. Arrive in Berastagi, visit the local fruit market and transfer to your hotel afterwards.  Accomodation at Sibayak or Grand Mutiara Hotel (4*).

 

DAY 3 : BERASTAGI - LAKE TOBA / SAMOSIR ISLAND (B)
Drive to lake Toba, the deepest and largest crater lake in the South East Asia with stop at Dokan, a Batak Karo village with a number of traditional houses still being used where eight families live in together in each house. Continue drive to Sipiso piso waterfall and the ancient king palace of Batak Simalungun. Arrive in Parapat, a town resort at the edge of lake Toba across onboard to Samosir, a huge volcanic island in the middle of lake Toba.  Accomodation at Silintong or Toledo Inn (2*)

DAY 4: SAMOSIR TOUR (B)
Inland tour to explore the natural beauty and cultural aspects of Batak visiting Ambarita, a traditional village with the remnant of megalithic culture of Batak and Simanindo to see the folkdance performed by the villagers as well as children learning in school. Before return to your hotel, visit Tomok where carved statues stand in an ancient graveyard as memorial to the kings of bygone days.

DAY 5 : SAMOSIR ISLAND - MEDAN (B)
Across back the lake by boat to Parapat and then drive to Medan passing by town of Pematang Siantar. After 4-5 hour drive, arrive in Medan and short citytour visit to Maimoon; the ancient palace of Sultanate Malay Deli, grand mosque Al-Mashum & Buddhist temple.
Overnite stay at Tiara or Novotel Soechi Medan (4*)

DAY 6: MEDAN HOTEL - AIRPORT (B)
Free to relax at hotel or stroll around the city until the appropriate time you'll be transferred to airport for your onward flight. End of Services
