ORANG UTAN - TANGKAHAN

 

DAY 1: ARRIVAL MEDAN - BUKIT LAWANG
We will pick up you from airport and then drive westward passing by vast view of palmoil and rubber plantation to Bukit Lawang, the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre located in Gunung Leuser Park. This is one of the largest national park in the world containing over 800,000 ha of virgin rainforest. Arrive in Bukit Lawang, direct transfer to a standard accomodation and free at leisure.
Accomodation at Bukit Lawang Cottage or Rindu Alam Hotel (standard accomodation).

DAY 2: BUKIT LAWANG - TANGKAHAN by LOCAL JEEP (B)
Walk along the river side and across the river by canoe to reach the sanctuary where the Orang Utan are trained to live in the wild. Continue to hike up to visit the feeding site where the Orang Utan fed during the feeding time. After the visit, walk back to your accommodation and have a short rest before drive by a local jeep to Tangkahan, a village at the other side of Leuser park far as touristy as Bukit Lawang passing by rural areas and plantation track. Upon arrival, a dugout canoe will transport you across the river to reach the lodge. Accomodation at Jungle Lodge or Bamboo Lodge (basic lodge with basic facilities, meals & services but clean).

DAY 3: TANGKAHAN FREE DAY (B)
Free at own program in the fascinating jungle area. There are many things to do such as jungle trek with varied levels, swim on the unspoiled river, sit on a small beach full of butterflies and take a shower under the jungle waterfall or to float on the rubber tube down the speed of the river. If you have never been on the bareback of the biggest mammal in the world, then it is the time! An elephants site is available which allow you to ride through jungle trails. Also you can see them bathing in the river.
Accomodation at Jungle Lodge or Bamboo Lodge (basic lodge with basic facilities, meals & services but clean).

DAY 4: TANGKAHAN - MEDAN (B)
Leave Tangkahan and drive on the first 2-hours through palmoil plantation track, locally known as disco road due to its bump. Further drive on the normal road passing by several villages as well as town of Stabat. Arrive in Medan, short citytour visit to Maimoon; the ancient palace of Sultanate Malay Deli, grand mosque Al-Mashum & Buddhist temple.
Overnite stay at Tiara or Novotel Soechi Medan (4*)

DAY 5: MEDAN HOTEL - AIRPORT (B)
Free to relax at hotel or stroll around the city until the appropriate time you'll be transferred to airport for your onward flight. End of Services.
