SOUTH & CENTRAL SULAWESI EXPEDITION

DAY 01 : MAKASSAR -TORAJA (D)
 Upon
arrival at Hasanuddin Airport, our guide will meet you and take you
directly to Torajaland. Approximately 8 hours drive through magnificent
road a cross villages, beautiful mountain and the natural countryside.
Lunch will be served at Sea Food Restaurant in Pare - Pare. Proceed
to Torajaland, late afternoon arrive in Rantepao and check in at hotel
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 02 : TORAJA EXCURSION (B L D)
Breakfast at hotel. One full day have been set a side for an excursion
through Toraja Land. The highlight of this region include the ancient
stone grave at LEMO and LONDA where the bodies of the dead are placed
in holes carved into rocky cliffs or inside natural caves according
to the traditional animistic rituals that are still performed
today as they have done from generation to generation. In addition you
will see traditional Toraja Houses at Kete Kesuk and Palawa. Lunch will
be served at local restaurant. Any traditional ceremonies or funerals
that can be reached by foot will be also included. Dinner at hotel.
DAY 03 : TATOR - PALOPO - PENDOLO ( B L D)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to the border of Central Sulawesi with several
stops in accordance with your interest. Drive through a rainforest with
coconut trees. Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Bone-Bone.
Late afternoon arrive at the like shore of Poso and check in at hotel
(simple accommodation) for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04 : PENDOLO-BANCEA-TENTENA (B L D)
After breakfast you will explore lake Poso by boat, stopping at Bancea
orchid forest to see many different kinds of orchids. Swimming at a
sandy beach and clear water, while your guide provides local lunch of
the fish from like Poso. Afternoon continue to Tentena. Check I hotel
(simple accommodation). Accommodation and dinner at hotel.
DAY 05 : EXPLORE TENTENA (B L D)
After breakfast drive to Sulewana where a huge rapid from Poso river
empties into Tomini Bay. Continue to Waterfall of Saluopa and visit
twelve steps of water, each step has a pool for bathing. Walk around
the waterfall while enjoying the rainforest. Local lunch will be provided
around the waterfall. Late afternoon walk through the rice fields and
catch your bus to the hotel for accommodation and dinner.
DAY 06 : TENTENA - BADA Valley by JEEP 75 kms approx 7 hrs
(B L D)
Soon after breakfast, drive by jeep to Bada valley, very bumpy road
full of fascinating sights. Drive through beautiful landscape and forest.
Lunch en route. Late afternoon arrive in Bomba. Accommodation and dinner
at a simple hotel / home stay.
DAY 07- 08 - 09 -10: Trekking Through Bada valley 7 hours / day. (B
L D)
Discovering the megalithic stones spread out in many places. The program
will be arranged day by day. Discovering the highlights of this region,
such megalithic rocks, native villages farm area. During trekking you
will have porters/helpers who may help you when you have difficulties
crossing rivers or crossing hanging bridges. Enjoy the beauty of nature
and nice climate. This area is rich in flora and fauna. You will have
opportunity to take a bath at hot springs and at a waterfall and sometimes
in the river. Daily meals provided by local style.
DAY 11 : TRANSFER from Gimpu to Donggala via Palu (B L D)
Soon after breakfast, transfer to Donggala (115 km). Lunch at local
restaurant. Afternoon arrive in Donggala and check in at Cottage at
the beautiful beach side. Dinner at hotel.
DAY 12 : Relaxing in Donggala Beach (B L D)
After trekking you have one full day for relaxing or swimming /snorkeling
or you may join tour to several islands. All meals are provided.
DAY 13 : Donggala / HOTEL - Arport . (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for the
next destination.
