SPECIAL DEPARTURE TRIPS

Duration : 10days-09nights Summer Trip of Korowai (Tree Houses) and Baliem Valley
Start / Finish : Jayapura airport

Day 01/July 30: Jayapura Arrival (L,D)
Upon arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura, then short transfer to Sentani Indah hotel for check-in and have a rest. Then we apply traveling permit or we called “SURAT JALAN”. Afternoon have time to visit Sentani villages and surrounding.

Day 02/July 31 : Jayapura - Wamena (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel and free at leisure till time transfer to airport for your flight to Wamena in the noon. Upon arrival at Wamena, transfer to hotel. The rest of the day will be free program (preparation for next trip to low land) or you may walk around hotel and see the traditional market and surrounding. Dinner and overnight at Rannu Jaya hotel or Baliem Pilamo.

Day 03/Aug 01: Wamena – Yaniruma/Korowai Tribe by charter flight (B,L,D)
Morning we weight our all staff including our body to Missionary flight. Then fly over the mountains and rivers with your guide and cook for an hour to Yaniruma the home of Korowai tribes. Upon arrival, directly arrange local porters who will carry our all equipments then paddle of dugout canoe to cross of Dairam river. From here we start our adventure into the jungle (korowai tribes) for about 3-4 hours where we will find tree house and family leaving there. We overnight at tent near tree house (local house), but should you want to sleep on the tree house with Korowai family bring-up your own mosquito net.

Day 04/Aug 02 : Tree House People (B,L,D)
Today we may walk further into virgin jungle, Korowai and Kombai are semi nomadic people, therefor the trip is more like searching where they live. The terrain will always be wet and muddly. The temperature is hot and humid with many mosquitoes in the area. They always move from one place to another in order to be close to the foods and hunted animals provided by nature. These tribes are hunter and gatherer who move and build a new tree house once every 2 or 3 years with high between 10-30 meters from ground. Our trek and adventures will be around 4-6 hours a day with trail is going through the swampy lands so you will get wet and could be slippery and muddy when it’s rain. The surface of our trail into the forest is almost flat, NO HIKE AT ALL and we likely walk under the canopy of the forest’s trees most of the time. And enjoy the beautiful and exotic flora and fauna. Sometimes we meet difficult walk when we have to walk on logs or fallen tree in the small river or sago swamp, but do not worry where your local porters always assist and help you. Your meals will be provided by Papua Adventure’s cook who has experienced.

Day 05&06/Aug 03 & 04: Tree House People (B,L,D)
Fried noodles as your breakfast today. Itineraries of our trip are flexible, we may sometimes spend 2 – 3 nights in one place of the tree house if there are some interesting events in the place and the family would like to host us that we can join their daily activities. We really think that by joining with local people daily activities is the best way to understand and experience the local people live and cultures, Like gathering of main foods (sago processing) or collecting sago grabs, fishing or hunting and make traps for wild pigs and birds like cassowary / sago, fishing, hunting or put on the trap for animal like wild pigs and birds.

Day 07/Aug 05 : Tree House People – Yaniruma (B,L,D)
Breakfast served and we may trek back to Yaniruma and passing another tree house. Afternoon arrived at Yaniruma and we have overnight stay here with simple accommodations. Lunch and dinner will be provided by Papua Adventure’s cook.

Day 08/Aug 06: Yaniruma – Wamena by Charter flight (B,L,D)
Morning breakfast and waiting our charter flight to bring us back to Wamena with same route. Arrive at Wamena transfer to hotel and have meals and overnight at Baliem Pilamo hotel or similar.

Day 09/Aug 07: Wamena - Jiwika – (Dani tribes Festival and dance) (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel then drive half an hour to north of Baliem valley then see and enjoy the Dani pig feast and dance, Here you may learn more about the Dani cultures and community life, which you will see how the dani kill a pig and cook into hot stone with sweet potatoes, vegetable as well. This performance will be held 4-5 hours. After enjoyed this performance see the 250 years old Mummy. Afternoon back to town and may visit local market.

Day 10/Aug 08 : Wamena – Jayapura – Jakarta/Sulawesi (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to airport for your flight back to Jayapura around 08.00 and arrivals at Jayapura you may catch afternoon flight to Jakarta/Sulawesi. End our services!

Exclusions/Exclude on this trip:
- Travel insurance, entry visa to Indonesia $. 25.00, International flight, airport taxes, excess baggage, All expenses incurred due to the flight cancellations or due other causes beyond our control, Beverages, laundry, personal expenses, tipping and etc. Returns earlier of this trip due to sickness or other problems will pay the expenses by your self.

Domestic and local Flights schedule:
** Jakarta – Jayapura daily flight with 2 times transit:
Night flight start / arrival : 09.00p.m - 06.45a.m or 09.50p.m - 07.10a.m or 10.00p.m - 07.55a.m
Day time flight start / arrival : 05.00a.m – 02.00p.m or 06.00a.m – 03.00p.m
And return flight to Jakarta mostly start in morning and arrival in Jakarta in the afternoon / early evening
** Bali - Jayapura Daily flight daily flight with 1 time transit available only at 01.25a.m – 07.55a.m
and Jayapura – Bali start and arrival at 09.00a.m-12.55p.m
** Jayapura - Wamena – Jayapura daily flight, while for Charter Missionary flight Wamena-Yaniruma-Wamena available from Monday to Saturday, for Sunday and other publish holiday will be off. Event our charter flight confirmed early and if bad weather or need by other for emergency, our flight will be re-schedule the next day.

Note: ** Travel with this package the age of participants not more than 65 year old………….
- Travelers are required to bring 2 pieces photo with size 3x4cm or 4x6cm + copy of passport & visa for arrange traveling permit to your trip into remote places of Irian Jaya-Papua. (Passport must be valid at least 6 months). Document can bring by your self and upon arrival at Jayapura, give them to our guide.
- For Entry visa of Indonesia, can be purchased on your arrival at Jakarta or other International airport of Indonesia with cost = USD. 25.00 / person.
- Weather in highland are cold & cool while in lowland-cost are hot & humid. And for clothes, adjust with condition of weather and extra to bring such as: mattress, mosquito net, rain coat, hat, plastic, and pill of against malaria which exist malaria of Irian Jaya.
