DAY 01: MAUMERE - ARRIVAL
On
arrival at Waioti Airport of Maumere at 14.30 direct drive 12 Km to
eastern Maumere town (15 minutes drive) then check-in at FLORES SAO
RESORT for meals and accommodation.(D)
DAY 02: MAUMERE - MONI
Breakfast at hotel. Drive-up to Moni for 4 hours with several stops
at Ledalero - a major Catholic Seminary - to visit the museum with
its various collection of local royal families' old portraits, antique
hand woven clothes, stagedeon fossils, etc. Proceed to Sikka village
- a center of "Ikat" weaving to see the traditional weaving
process and an old church built in the 16th Century. Onto Wolowaru
for having lunch. If weather permits, direct drive up to Kelimutu
to see the Three Color Lakes. Accommodation and dinner at hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY 03: MONI - RIUNG
After an early morning breakfast at 5.30 drive up to Kelimutu volcano
to see the three colored lakes. Upon arrival walk for 1,5 km and then
ascend 127 steps to top to view Kelimutu's green, blue and black lakes.
A Dutch Geologist discovered Kelimutu in 1914; at the time the lakes
were red, blue and white. Descend to Moni village to visit Kowanara
village famous for its traditional Lionese houses, stone seats and
traditional sacred cemetery. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant
in Ende. Continue drive to Riung through some parts of bumpy road
with several stops according to local happenings. Accommodation and
meals at hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY 04: RIUNG - BAJAWA
After
breakfast take a boat trip to explore the spectacular sea garden of
seventeen islands. The reef of “Seventeen Islands” is
very spectacular – with a variety of hard and soft corals and
lots of colorful fish. There are 17 islands in total, with plenty
of idyllic white sand beaches for swimming and a multitude of coral
species and sea creatures to discover. Return to the lodge for having
lunch. Then drive to Bajawa with stop at Soa - a natural hot spring
water for taking bathing. Accommodation and dinner at hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY 05: BAJAWA - RUTENG
Breakfast at hotel. Explore traditional village of Bajawa tribes.
Visit Boloji or Warusoba to attend dance performance of Bajawanese
followed by "Suling" - cluster of Bamboo flute concert music.
Proceed to Bena - a megalithic village where people do preserve their
ancestral spirits believed and way of life, which can be seen in their
"Ngadhu" and "Bhaga". Ngadhu and Bhaga are conical
thatched roof huts symbolized their Male and Female ancestral spirits.
On the way stop on the slope of Inerie active volcano for taking pictures.
Return to Bajawa for having lunch, then continue overland to Ruteng.
stops will be made at "Ranamese" Lake, and snapshot at magnificent
peak of Mt. Inerie - an active volcano. Accommodation and dinner at
hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY 06: RUTENG - LABUANBAJO
Breakfast at hotel. Morning visiting Rutengpuu - Manggarainese traditional
village to see their unique slander-shaped houses and be with local
people. Overland to Labuan Bajo - the Western tip of Flores Island.
On the way stops will be made at Lembor and Cancar where you can enjoy
the beautiful panorama of rice fields with lush and dry hills as the
background, and other places according to local happenings. On arrival
direct check into your hotel for accommodation and dinner. (B,L,D)
DAY 07: LABUANBAJO - OUT
Breakfast at hotel. Morning free at leisure until departure to the
Airport for flight to Denpasar – Bali or your next destination.
