Manado - North Celebes (SULAWESI)

MANADO - the provincial capital of North Celebes is an elegant city with broadside boulevard and swaying palms. This city is lies at the tip of the lovely mountainous Minahasa region with its active volcano,clear highland lakes, hotwater springs,white sandy beach and spectaqular and suppose to be one of thes dive spot in the world. The busy port Bitung, the main shipping harbor from North Sulawesi, seems and unlikely choice for a dive center. Yet just north of the port, in the straight formed by Lembeh Island, is some of the finest diving in North Sulawesi. there are three W shipwrecks and one sunken Taiwanese fishing vessel to dive.

Bitung on the east coast of peninsula is a famous port town which since 16th centuries used by Portuguese traders and follows by the Spanish traders since the 18th century for their spice routes.
Lembeh Island on the northern peninsula is the finest diving spot, Tara Tara village is known as the centre of Minahasan art and culture where performances such as the Cakalele war dance are sometimes held,Bunaken - the world best Marine Park, climb Mount Lokon to admire the hotspring crater lake,Tongkoko nature reserve and wild life park are abundant with tropical marine life and rich with variety of an exotic tropical plant of rainforest.
