The Island of Timor has been known throughtout the history as a source of fragrant sandalwood. The Chinese, Javanese and Islamic traders frequented the islands for many centuries to obtain the wood, then the Portuguese and the Dutch lster fought to control the trade and subsequently devided the island into two : Dutch West Timor and Portuguese East Timor.

MAUMERE  - FLORES - EAST NUSA  TENGGARA



Flores is the largest island in the eastern of Nusa Tenggara chain, and has received foreign influences from many quarters where the Port of Maumere is formed a vital links in the eastern  inter island traders and since the 14th century it was drawn into the commercial and political sphere of the Hindhu Javanese empire of Majapahit Kingdom.

From the vessel you can see the sunrise over the perfectly pointed peak of Mount Inerie on the south coast of Flores,then ashore at the small village of Aimere thence by local transportation take a breathtaking journey up to the volcano to reach Bajawa a land of megalith and incredible culture richness where you will introduced to a society of traditional weavers and spend the day in a world of exquisite skills and creativity that is rarely visited by outsiders.
Thence drive passing through striking scenery and waterfalls cascading over vthe limestones cliffs to reach the  Kelimutu volcane which is world famous with its multi coloured lakes.
